COUNTERTOP INSTALLER - ROYAL COUNTERTOPS INC

Custom Tile and Stone Installer

Primary responsibility will be the installation of custom tile and stone in residential and commercial projects.

THE IMPORTANT WORK YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Measure and mark surfaces to be tiled, following blueprints or numbered sequences; seek any work order clarification from the Field Superintendent or Superintendent.
  • Utilize and maintain all company tools and machines according to company policy.
  • Apply caulk, sealants, or other agents to installed surfaces; grout between joints.
  • Cut or shape stone or granite to specified sizes for installation, using power saws or tile cutters.
  • Transport materials, tools, and machines to installation sites as required.
  • Move or position materials, such as marble slabs, using cranes, hoists, or dollies.
  • Communicate effective daily progress to Foreman, including continuous communication as necessary for scheduling purposes.
  • Complete time cards accurately and on time.
  • Adhere to and inspect quality control standards.
  • Monitored inventory levels for jobs ensuring correct amount of product on hand.
  • Report issues, changes and/or inventory to the Lead Installer, or Field Superintendent.
  • Attend meetings and training sessions as assigned by senior management.
  • Assist in the development and learning of Jr. Installers.
  • Adhere to the company’s policies and procedures as outlined in Employee Handbook, Company Safety and Health rules, OSHA regulations, and all other applicable federal and state regulations.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience of installing stone, solid surface and laminate, laying out work, repairing and tile patching, preparing sub-surfaces, sealing surfaces, waterproofing, caulking, and grouting.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

SKILLS:

  • Working knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the installation of stone, solid surface and laminate.
  • Ability to read technical drawings, math calculations (measuring, addition/subtraction, multiplication/division, ratios, percentages, dimensions, basic algebra, geometry, and their applications), oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and courteously with customers and coworkers.
  • Ability to perform physical activities pertaining to the essential functions of the position: Requires considerable use of arms/legs and moving of the whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, kneeling, carrying and lifting 50-100lbs.
  • Detail and task-oriented, dependable, and professional.

YOUR WORKING ENVIRONMENT

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands or finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50-100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The duties of this job are performed in both an office environment and at jobsites, thereby experiencing some minor to moderate level of noise due to office and machine equipment. May require extended hours in order to meet customer’s needs.
  • This position requires traveling between jobsites and Royal Countertops. Royal requires all employees who drive their personnel or a company vehicle in the routine performance of their jobs to have a valid Driver’s License. They must also provide proof of valid insurance.

Work hours 5:00am - 8:00am start
Stop times 1:30pm - 6:30pm
Approx. 50+ hour per week
Overtime as required

COUNTERTOP INSTALLATION HELPER - ROYAL COUNTERTOPS INC.

Installation Helper

  • Share driving responsible with lead installer (Class C for Toyota pick- up trucks) (preferred not required).
  • Help deliver countertops and spread to apartment units.
  • Help lift countertops to saw horses so installer can cut and then back to cabinets as required.
  • Apply adhesive to cabinets and caulk countertops to walls.
  • Prepare and apply caulking and sealant.
  • Wipe off excess glue, sealant, caulking and apply necessary finishes.
  • Clean and level surfaces.
  • Clean countertops and clean all dust and debris from unit.
  • Gather tools and take to next unit.
  • Load and unload tools at shop daily.
  • Clean pickup trucks daily.

Work hours vary as destinations are different daily.

Work hours 5:00am - 8:00 am start
Stop times 1:30pm - 6:30pm
Approx. 50+ hour per week
Overtime as required

Work days Monday thru Saturday (Saturdays as required)

COUNTERTOP FABRICATOR - THE COUNTERTOP FACTORY

Fabricate Stone Products

Polish, edge, and finish stone products according to quality standards.

THE IMPORTANT WORK YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Router custom stone profiles; shape, trim or touch up roughed-out design with appropriate tools in order to finish the product.
  • Reface and repair stone.
  • Maintain production in accordance with the design specifications, time/completion schedules, quality standards and employee safety.
  • Thorough working knowledge and understanding of machine tooling, safe operation of tools, inserts, and chip breaker function.
  • Drill or cut into stone; verifying depths and dimension of cuts and finishes.
  • Attends and participates in scheduled meetings and/or trainings as required by COO or management.
  • Adhere to all Company Safety and Health rules, employee Handbook, and OSHA regulations.
  • Complete time cards accurately and on time.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned by COO and/or senior management.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

  • At least two years of experience fabricating natural stone countertops.
  • Experience in stone fabrication industry.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with hand and power tools for granite installation.
  • General geological knowledge as applied to granite, marble and quartz preferred.
  • Forklift driving experience preferred.
  • Knowledge on Stone Material Handling.
  • High School diploma or GED required.

SKILLS:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to communicate with clients and employees both verbally and written in the English language.
  • Ability to perform all types of edge work on stone; hone and refinish polished faces.
  • Ability to read and understand fabrication drawings; cut or shape stone according to drawings and/or templates.
  • Ability to perform basic and complex geometric and algebraic mathematical computations. It also requires the ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, bar graphs, ratios and proportions to complex and practical situations.
  • General and practical knowledge of measuring tools, power tools, and equipment utilized in the tile and stone industry.
  • Willingness to adapt to and accept constructive feedback and implement necessary corrections in a timely manner.
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (i.e., eyeglasses, noise reducing equipment, waterproof gear, and steel toe shoes).
  • Ability to push, pull, and carry materials 50-100 lbs. and prolonged standing.
  • Flexibility and willingness to assume new duties/responsibilities as necessary in order to respond to fluctuating work hours driven by project/production needs.
  • Able to provide and encourage positive attitude of cooperation and collaboration with management and other team members.

They must also provide proof of valid insurance and clean MVR.

COUNTERTOP FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN - ROYAL COUNTERTOPS INC.

Measure and Template
  • Measure and Template Countertops (Granite, Quartz, Solid Surface and Laminate)
  • Evaluating countertops during on-site visits and performing repairs as applicable
  • Analyzing, assessing and giving direction on customer complaint resolutions
  • Communicating effectively with the fabrication shop
  • Operating basic power tools (hand polishers, chop saw, angle grinder & gorilla grips) while repairing countertops
  • Driving the company vehicle to all appointments
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a field service position required
  • Providing outstanding customer service to end users
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to read blueprints and tape measures
  • Must be able to drive, valid Driver’s License required
  • Ability to lift 75 lbs. daily
  • Ability to bend and twist while working
  • Ability to work extended hours
  • Ability to drive for long periods of time
  • Performing other duties as assigned by management
